Which conclusions did they come up with on the FB fage?
I think its a service dial, the variations on them is pretty wide. I don't think I have seen one this late with that font. My guess is that they just used whatever AML was around in the early 90's for this. You could most likely figure it out if you knew what other dials Singer was doing for Omega then. IMHO its the easiest explanation.

They think its a FOIS dial, or a prototype...

I’m seriously thinking about leaving the group. The level of knowledge is low and the Italians take advantage of it sometimes.

I also told them what it is, and they are telling me I am wrong...

Seems to me some people have a motive to say you're wrong. I would bail, no point in staying if your opinion is not valued.

Perhaps, and no one would blame anyone for leaving such an atomosphere. No one has a right to judge. But staying and sharing a different perspective gives people with a more open mind a chance to learn. I would bet noob Italians are a lot like noob Americans.

The force is strong in you @Foo2rama.

Lol 😀

Italian watch collectors are the opposite of noobs. They are the cut throat Persian rug dealers of the watch world.

I was just pointing out the lower level of knowledge in venues that you would hope would have some knowledge. This is a pretty special forum.

I on the other hand have an obsessive need to spread correct knowledge...

But thank you for the compliment 😀

@YY77 it’s not that I’m not valued it’s just people don’t know enough that they don’t know anything.

Awww, it's kinda cute in a way but...

and the Italians take advantage of it sometimes

Sigh. ::facepalm1::
Funny, I was just advising a new watch-bud of mine about Italian sellers earlier today. I personally know a couple of Italian watch nerds who are really honest dudes, but there are still so many dealers who persist on the other side of that coin it's nuts

The hesalite speddmaster is NOT the original model of the watch that went to the moon. For starters, it doesn't have the original caliber 321. The actual watch that went to the moon is vintage from the 60s. The current speddy watch is just a hybrid watch with a poor internal finish. Omega discontinued production of the original 321 caliber due to the high cost of its finish and especially its Pilates wheel. That is why I prefer the quality of the current double sapphire, with the caliber seen, which looks spectacular. Everyone should understand here that the current hesalite speddy does not have the quality of the original caliber nor is it the original model. And since I don't plan to travel to the moon and don't want to keep in my watch box a new watch disguised as an old one with plastic glass, which scratches all the time, I prefer to carefree use the double sapphire that I currently have.I had both references, the I have used and decided to keep the double sapphire with my butt exposed ... the best of both worlds!

You should understand: The current lunar watch with a blind background with hesalite glass is just a modern watch disguised as an original watch with plastic glass with a cheap caliber that is not 321 .. It is the harsh reality that hurts whoever hurts .. I happy with my speddy sapphire crystal. I do not presume to have the original, but it has higher class and quality

Your thoughts?

sigh...

Yeah, that does not seem like a group I would want to participate in.

For starters this sounds like it was run through Google Translate or something, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt when I say I think some of the points may have been blunted. Even so, definitely not knowledgeable.

I can understand why you would but at a certain point it can become tiresome participating in such a group, especially taking into account your comments about the cutthroat Persian rug dealers.

Please do not take that as an insult, but have you ever dealt with rug merchants? They are incredibly smart businessman and 99% of the time Persian. They do tend to try to make the largest profit possible esp by playing on the lack of knowledge of most rug buyers. It's not theft, but most of us are not that cutthroat when it comes to selling things. Italian watch dealers also have a tendency to prey on less knowledgable people and are prone to hyperbole at times.

No never bought a rug. So something like the saying a"good salesman can sell ice to an Eskimo".

Nah, just Italian English I think. Fewer Italians are really good at English compared to your average German or Dutch.

I was excited to learn there's a Pilates wheel in my Speedy, no wonder my abs are looking so good right now!::rimshot::
