Are they over doing the good ol' Speedmaster?

Do you think Speedy Moon to Mars will be sought after if NASA (or Space X or Virgin Space) did send people to Mars?
(I cross my fingers since I own one 馃槜)

Now that's what I call wishful thinking with a very heavy bias 馃槣

Look at the original snoopy and alaska project though. Sleepers, both. Who knows - even the Z-33 may be desireable one day...!

Is the X33 rated for EVA though or are the Pros still used for that?
I thought that nasa hadn't qualified it (they saw no point) but ESA did. The Skywalker anyway, doesn't it have an engraving to that effect on the caseback?

Hahaha! None of you will believe I, of all members, am going to say this, but I'd say Omega hasn't crossed that line as of yet with Speedmasters. They certainly are close though, and Speedies have been made so long the "watered down" aspect has come & gone already. Lots of space anniversary dates to market! They actually got some points from me for this latest LE done in conjunction with Fratello.

Now AP and their stupid ROO LE's.... well, just Google "Montauk Highway Royal Oak" and try not to get a little sick.
As much as I love the Royal Oak and it's sheer beauty I will have to agree with you. It seems like they make special editions just because.

For the upcoming "50 years" anniversaries of the Apollo 8 ~ 11 missions, there's no need for another 'special edition' Speedmaster.
Just a classic Speedmaster chronograph that's available during that whole anniversary year (2018 ~ 2019) with a subtle reference on the caseback.
It is mark of half a century. I bet you money Omega will come up with a (or few) LE/SE to commemorate that occasion. Afterall, there is one for every year & why stop when the cow is still producing milk.

Splash is Okay.... it's 50 meters water resistant.. You can't take shower or swim in water or bourbon but splash of anything is just okay IMHO.

If the people on the flight wore Invictas, then no... 馃榿

(You can replace Invicta with any other brand and the answer will still be no)...::stirthepot::

Can we settle on low energy splash?

Well, been waiting since 1997 (first 1861 caliber) to find something historically suitable among new Speedmaster chronographs 馃ケ

In my humble opinion, Omega is doing it right with regards to distribution (online only- means less grey market and more control as to the environment in watch is sold / it is after all selective distribution). I work for prestige fragrances and this is actually a business model we are working on ourselves for our brands.

+1 also for keeping close to their web fan base who avidly scours the internet + social media for anything Speedmaster.

If I were Omega though, I would keep a VERY close eye on this forum, have someone from my social media/PR team as dedicated moderator and try to cash in design trends, requests, criticism. More than 30 members already bought this LE here. Thats huge. Hell I would even buy the forum if I were them. I might be overstepping myself here though.
If Omega bought the forum how the hell would you be able to tell n00bs not to send their watches to them?

Pretty easy, tell them to send them but not approve dial/hand swaps from tritium!

I've had plenty of watches serviced very well by the Seattle SC. Eric, Mac and Debra are all amazing.
