If your clasp has the problem, get it replaced.
So far no screws falling out. 2+ years already

It's just bizarre to me that the tech at the AD sent you home with a clasp minus one screw.

Does anyone happen to know if 117STZ004666 also has this issue? I just lost a screw on my Planet Ocean 39.5mm so I'm thinking it might.

Nothing noted on that clasp.

If I had this bracelet with this clasp or any other clasp with screws for that matter, I would unscrew all and add a drop of 243 Loctite or similar glue simply to put my mind at rest. Screws will be held securely in place but could easily be unscrewed if ever there might be the need to unscrew.

Really the clasp should come from the factory with Loctite already applied. I'm fairly certain the bracelet screws are at least supposed to be Loctite-d, so I can't see why the clasp is any different. Seems unnecessary to expect the consumer to have to disassemble their clasp for a $5,000 watch to stop it from falling apart.

I am a little curious if these were just put together wrong or if Omega discovered a design flaw. Either way, I'm still waiting for it to come back from warranty replacement.

Apologies for reviving and old post.. but I have this same clasp on my Omega Planet Ocean watch.. which I've just sent in for warranty repair. The shop I have used (an official Omega dealer in the UK and well known jeweler) said "we are not sure they'll honor the warranty on this claim as it's considered wear and tear."

I asked about the clasp number and it would appear it is "STZ001159", this is written on the clasp.. Am I right in assuming this is a known issue? Is there a reference for this problem I could have?

Thanks for your help in advance.

This is (one of?) the clasps that gets struck on people's wrist, ad yes Omega will cover under warranty.

Have the dealer look the clasp up on the Omega Extranet, and click on the red triangle that comes up beside the clasp. Then they can click on the lower link that comes up in this box:

It will tell them the correct procedure to follow to replace the clasp - there should be no charge to you and if there is, you need to complain.

Cheers, Al

The problem I have is that the clasp isn't holding closed, not that it is sticking.. it's simply falling off my wrist all the time because the locking mechanism is so loose. Am I likely to run into issues putting this through as a warranty claim?

Thanks for this btw, it's very helpful!

Then you will have to wait to see what they say...
