Are early constellation 10 sided crowns really discontinued/available??

I've been collecting for over 3 years, but just started to get into Omega constellations. Currently on a C-case daydate! I am a huge fan of the constellation pie pan and early constellations with arrowhead markers. I've recently bought a stainless steel 2852 (with a clover crown 😲) and a gold capped 2782. Very fortunate to have come across them.

Both with wrong crowns sadly. I've done some research, read Desmond's articles too but still need help on finding the right crowns. I know there are aftermarket crowns for them just not quite sure which ones are correct. I notice there is a difference in thickness ranging from 2.9mm to 3mm to 3.2mm. Does thickness really matter in this case? In general the crowns are 5mm in diameter and 2.5mm tube. I've concluded that the 069ST42019 is the right crown for early constellations... correct me if I'm wrong 🤔. Would love to get pointed in the right direction and get them on the wrist ASAP. Thanks!

Email parts suppliers with the full reference numbers and check and see. They have the right codes to match up crowns to the case.

Bear in mind that Omega hasn't made gold filled or gold capped crowns in decades, so gold crowns will be gold plated. Not a great match, but not much else you can do unless you find a NOS old one.

Second. Just because someone says NOS on Ebay for a gold crown it means squat. Crown could be 10 years, but still going to be plated

Some old crowns are very difficult to find nowadays

I haven't actually thought about gold filled/gold capped/ gold plated. Wow thank you! Yeah I'm seeing a lot of eBay sellers claiming NOS I'll look out for that. Great advice

Post pictures of watches.
10 sided crowns are hard to find but not unobtainable.

Some watches clover and 10-sided are both seen on original watches.

AFAIK the earlier ‘fat’ crowns are still produced by Omega.
They may now only be available via a watchmaker with an Omega parts account.
(Although it’s possible some are still available from parts suppliers‘ stock)

the later thin crowns are no longer available from Omega.

Yes that the correct part no. for the stainless steel version and they are still listed as available on Otto Frei.
As above I would be very wary of eBay listings claiming to be originals.

The one on left is for 4 digit case reference. If you can find one with thin logo, you are lucky.

Got a lot with many different Omega crowns years back, and there were some ten sided also in rosegold, yellowgold and steel. Not sure if they are for the older Constellations, they are higher that slim ten sided for 167/8.005.

Looks like newer production with round logo.
If they are higher than the slim ones, they must be for 4 digit case reference.
The ones for six digit reference are slimmer and have smaller tubes.

Five digit case reference are tricky, sometimes they are happy only with scallops.

That's interesting. Do you know which constellation references will take these crowns if not those?And how come they're taller. I did just get a stainless steel 14902 in need of the original crown 😁. Let me know if those fit!

Old post but hoping to get an answer. I have this 10 sided crown. But it’s not on a constellation. It’s come on a 1950s seamaster 2767
Was this crown originally only on the constellation?
