Some classic shock jock tactics from the all knowing Archie:

I wonder if he had a few drinks before recording this one :D

But at least he says there are very few Omega's he would wear...

Don't like the method of delivery, but is he really wrong?

I think Omega management received this message loud and clear a few years ago. That's why they are doing what they are doing from a marketing standpoint (less AD's, Boutiques, etc.).

    Just my opinion,

I personally think, there is some truth in what he has just delivered.

There are many new Omega watches which are just another watch, unlike the good old days' Constellations and Seamasters, born to live forever and ones to die for. After the C-case Constellation, I think Omega ran out of steam on how to compete with Rolex. Omega will be as lost as Corum is.

Though I have been 'robbed' of my watches, by the unscrupulous real estate agent and I have no more vintage-watches left in my possession, should I be able to stand on my own two feet once again, I will want to own some of the old Seamasters and Constellations but not those new Omegas save for the tourbillon. As for Rolex, there are several of their new watches which I think are very respectable and innovative.

Most of the old Rolex watches become vintage and collectible, just like the German Mercedes Benz, the world's best engineered car - sorry not Rolls Royce, since we are talking about quality motor-engineering and not something that is over-rated. Some of the old Omega watches are like Mercedes Benz, while the new ones are just like Rolls Royce, perhaps.

    Thank-you.

    Thank-you.

People that buy Seamasters? Watch fans, every day guys. Same guys that buy Speedmasters and Submariners and Calatravas and Royal Oaks and Constellations

I agree with you and I fully support the contents of this Archie's video.

In theory, you get your money back - cost plus shipping. In practice, the buyer will still lose a big chunk of money, since he has to return the item to the seller. It is a joke, all right.

I am surprised, not only franken and fake watches but fake watch-boxes are being circulated, too.

Good on you, Archie. Please expose all the rogues, so we can be wary.

    Thank-you.

He has a bit of a downer on dog turds, doesn't he :D

On the serious side, I'm still waiting for a shitbag on eBay to refund me for a totally fake "vintage" Omega box. 10 days after posting he claims it still isn't received, even though it's domestic postage & he's about 30 miles away.

It didn't seem to be worth a dispute over whether it was genuine, but it looks like we may still get to that judging by the way it's going at the moment.

It always cracks me up how the first 30-ish seconds are spent showing his Patek, VC, Mercedes, etc - and then he goes off cursing like trailer trash in half his postings.

This particular Omega one is funny - he says Omega is mass market, as if to say Rolex isn't? Rolex is just as mass market as Omega and it certainly isn't exculsive. :p Also, the "Omega is not Rolex. It never will be. It never was Rolex." He's correct - Omega was once BETTER than Rolex.
