My first Omega was a gift, an Aqua Terra 2500 41.5mm in 2007

I just don't see much love for the AT line.

I won't lie though, I wear it less than my Speedy Pro, SMP 300 or my 63 Seamaster.

Is there a turn off to it because there is a quartz reference also?

I have actually considered the 38.5 AT, as I think the dial is more appropriate on MY wrist.

Sorry for the VERY poor photo, but my AT looks huge.

I love the Aqua Terra line... the Skyfall blue 8500 / all brushed bracelet is truly a personal favorite. It didn't hurt that it was a James Bond watch as well for 2 movies :)

The AT is my favorite watch. My 41.5 MC is my favorite every day watch. Even over my 2232.30.

image.jpeg I love my Golf Edition. I could have went with the Skyfall Blue but side by side, the green against the black dial did it for me

Ive spoken to some non WIS about it, the consensus seems to be that its a bit boring.

Meh, them non WIS'ers probably think Michael Kors watches are great too... lol.

Seriously the AT is a stunning blend of style, both smart casual & formal suit... and performance.

The old 2500 doesnt do it for me. 8500 is the best IMO.

Call me biased but I think the AT is far from boring. I think it's pretty versatile because it looks great on leather, bracelet or NATO. It's sorta like a Speedy IMO.

Not completely sure what or who WIS or non WIS are.... as far as the AT in my opinion not boring. Then again if you need 300 colors, feels, buttons, carnivals and whistles then for sure...the AT is not an Invicta.

I don't find it boring at all. The AT seems to change personality dependent on the lighting, mine is the black face and people have thought it was blue and even brown face......At the end of the day, the only person that needs to like it is you!

To non wis if it's not a Rolex then they don't care. Sure a well detailed, proportioned watch looks way better to them.

Tbh I get more people interested with watches with an skx. Tell them the Seiko diver history and how dive watches work leads to automatics and the cool history of watches. The most interesting thing about the speedy is that it is the only watch certified to be worn outside a spacesuit and basically low tech but high precision gets people interested and asking other questions.

Can I ask, is the minute hand on your Golf actually blue or is that the light?

Yea it's the light angle coming from my shirt. Never noticed that, pretty cool. Have you played with different straps for your watch? Mine came with bracelet but had to but the leather.I eventually want to buy the black gator strap but the price is kinda steep.

I think this is the model he has...not the dial "reminiscent of ship deck planks."

I played with the idea, but not pulled the trigger. Like you, I contemplated the gator strap, but if I'm really honest, I haven't seen any pictures where I was wowed by an AT on leather; I haven't though seen one in the flesh where I might change my mind.

Maybe you should go for it so I can see yours :)
