Good morning OF!

This week I have the opportunity to pick up an Apollo XV 40th anniversary piece, and I was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on their experience with this model. I've seen it in Boutique and think it's pretty cool but have had a tough time finding wrist shots or long term impressions from owners.

I had previously thought my first Speedmaster would be the standard Professional, but there's something about this one that catches my eye as well. Thanks for any thoughts or advice.

Is this the watch you are talking about?

If so, it is exactly the same as the standard Speedmaster Professional, but with a different dial and caseback, so will wear exactly the same. Here is a wrist shot I found on the Internet.

Fun watch with the splash of colors and lunar rover on the caseback. But I still have second thoughts; can't really go wrong with a classic black dial.

I always think this one got the splash of colour just right. As much as I do like models such as the Tintin this one for me is far and away nicer. Rarely seen aswell, how many were made?

1971, OB at the Bellagio in Las Vegas had a new one left (i.e. exhibition piece, not in coffin) in April. Might pick it up if it is still there in October when I am in LV next. They also still have a split second sitting there, a watch I really like.

I think that split is the same one I tried on in 2013.....(I know no pics so didn't happen)....sweet watch but I was there for other reasons, and sorry for the thread hijack

That looks like a fun reason to be there! Yes, this watch has been there for a looong time. Don't understand that really as it is a beauty and the first use of ceramics on Speedmasters (or even Omega). Bought mine in Geneva, saving on VAT....

I'm proud to own one and bought it purely because the colours caught my eye. Was originally hunting down a 007 Skyfall Edition and when the lady showed me the Apollo XV 40th I fell for it instantly. I hope you're still enjoying your Professional.
