Trying to research any info on a Speedmaster Apollo X, Ref# 3597.14, so far have come up empty handed other than seeing these pieces as part of the complete Mission Set. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks. J

    Hello Josh

The Apollo X watch was originally made as part of the Missions set, comprising of 23 watches in one case.

40 cases were made for sale to clients and an additional 10 cases made, 5 were marked 'Epreuves d'artiste' and 5 'Hors Commerce' - so 50 in total.

Every watch was then made singular with an estimated 100-150 pieces each with exception of the Apollo 13 Mission patch which was made before the Missions Case in 1995.

    Here is the Apollo 10.

I wish I could help you out with more information about the Apollo X Speedmaster but that one seems to be a bit elusive, especially for pictures on the web. As you can see DLT222 had to post a picture of a Skylab watch to make up for it. It's early for a Saturday.

Good luck in your search and if you find more information on that model please bring it back here. I love the Apollo 10 mission you could not have picked a better one. Stafford and Cernan taking the LM down to 47,400 feet above the surface of the moon for the first time. What a show. One of the best looking patches as well.

Thanks DLT222 and TLI Guy for the responses and the historical background of the Appolo X. Given it's apparent scarcity would it be over the top to pay $5,500 for a complete package.

IMHO, yes! Only a few command the bigger bucks like the Apollo 11 & 13.

The rest you will find every now and then for between 2900-4000 (estimated) depending on the mission patch.

    5500 is way too much.

I'm with DLT222 on this one.... $5500 is very strong for an Apollo X mission patch watch. Yes, its rare, no question, but more important than supply, is demand, and demand isn't there for this mission.
