So in what way did it confirm the existence of follow on watches? Sorry if that sounded a little confrontational, not my intention, I am genuinely curious.
Hoping to see such a dial version return by 2025 to celebrate " 50 years ASTP " ... the last but not least of the half century Apollo tribute opportunities
Yes I see your point. They are careful with their wording it must be said, if I were pedantic or overly picky I would suggest that it doesn't say that they had approval at the time, it merely reflects what happened retrospectively, but I do accept that the mention on a recent extract give a level of defacto authenticity. It would be more helpful of course if they had stated how big the converted batch was, unless they are not entirely sure, shades of Ultraman perhaps.

They will be discovered in 2029 in Italy, and then say it was released 4 years earlier and there is no record of it.
EDIT: it's not number 12. Rereading the sale description i see that they were describing the apollo soyuz emblem under the 12 index. Bonehead move on my part. At this point an unidentified number.
This just has a serial number. It may already have been counted:
OMEGAMANIA: APOLLO-SOYUZ Omega, "Speedmaster Professional Apollo- Soyuz", No. 39927934. Ref. ST 145.022. Made in a limited edition of 500 examples in 1975 to mark the occasion of the joint Russo-American 'Apollo-Soyuz' mission. Sold on January 31, 1978.
Hang on that is supposedly a genuine original one of 500 model and yet has the same weasel words on the extract as the one above with the small pushers.
Bearing in mind the above, is that not in fact how the current extracts now describe a genuine 1 of 500 AS? If so it doesn’t count as validation fo a follow on watch after all.
