For me, no box and papers for a modern LE = no buy.

I agree...I always wondered how the goodies could disappear on a modern watch? It's like late model Rolex sport watches that have no bracelet?

Extras are always nice, but how many people lose the manuals on cars they buy? I figure a lot. It happens.

As for modern Rolexes without bracelets, people sell them to subsidize the cost of the watch all the time.

Aren't these LE bits available for exchange only? Meaning you can only get a new dial/caseback if you turn in an old dial/caseback?

Value of course drops if extras from an LE are gone.

Oh, it's only a Speedmaster. I thought the Apollo Soyuz capsule was up for bidding. Oh well, moving on......

You need the Apollo AND the Soyuz capsule so you can be sure it's real deal. Just either one could be just a plain old space capsule.

What would be the approximate market price for one with the full set of box and papers?

That is entirely up to the buyer to decide. What many of us do to get some kind of baseline is look at recent sales on ebay, as well as auction sites, and marketplace listings here. That should get you some data to work with.

" If it's too good to be true , then it probably is "
I remembered @ulackfocus commenting one of the features he would examine for in a watch is the medallion on the back casing so the secret to this A-S Speediorite is inspecting the medallion. It doesnt matter if the lighting is different but everything about the referred medallion is wrong[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
My personel opinion is the ebay watch in question is a Replica & not the Real Deal

Dial just doesn't look right. Can't see anything but smooth black on the main dial. I would want much better pics of the dial and at different angles. Looking at mine right now. The difference is obvious.

I'll show you another simple useful trick i use to study fakes. Download the ebay watch for sale then use an Apps that can convert the photo into Negative imaging

Last post on this thread before Agent Fox signs off[emoji137]
Once again appreciate the negative Imaging of a "Dirty colourful grainy dial" of a Genuine Apollo-Soyuz vs a
" Clean Reverse lume smooth dial " of a Replica[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
