Ok guys, my AD called me yesterday and got one in and is on hold for me until today. I tried it on yesterday and I've got to say it's AMAZING even though I hated it when I first saw pictures. They really do it no justice. They are offering me a 10% discount and I'm extremely tempted to go pick it up. Do you think these will go the way of other dark sides in a year +-40% off or will stay closer to msrp? I'm clinching my wallet tight right now. Talk me down guys. (Or talk me in to picking it up)
Looks good on your wrist. I'd say pull the trigger. Being a limited production model, it is unlikely that the market will be flooded with these, so the price will probably remain close to retail. It's certainly not for everyone but IMO one of the most interesting modern Speedmasters.
I’d hold off. Chances are far higher that they’ll be available at a higher than 10% discount before they’ll be up 40% over RRP. Alternatively if it speaks to you loudly enough buy it now - and it is a very nice looking watch - certainly on my shortlist for 2019/20. They are not limited edition so i can’t see them being in short supply for too long. They’ll probably ramp up numbers if they sell like hot cakes.
I have to say this has grown on me since launch, love the rear, cool quote and view of the manual movement.
I’m in a similar situation...went to my OB today to try it on. The watch looks fantastic and beautifully executed...but the yellow accents make the watch very sporty, which rules it out as a watch I can wear daily. I was hoping it would go with a shirt but IMHO it looked pretty out of place... The other doubt I have is whether I will still like the yellow accents a few months down the road. The watch is also very attention grabbing due to the unique colours and design. Which leads me to the same conundrum...do I pull the trigger now at RRP for a watch I will likely only wear on weekends, wait a couple of months for better deals to be available, or simply skip it....
I have a #PCA, and the yellow isn't too distracting at all. I like low-key, and it's not over the top.
I was wondering were are you guys located in. I’m in Texas and still waiting for mine and I talked with the OB the very first day of the release last year and gave a deposit. They keep telling me that Omega is fulfilling the big markets first.
I've ordered mine and put a deposit down, not interested in speculating its just a badass watch and I want it
Seems more watches are being delivered to display cases for impulse buyers, than being delivered to people with deposits. There’s a lesson in here somewhere. Just can’t put a finger on it...
For me Il wait or negotiate until you get 20% off or they call it managers discount. But bcoz it is new and everyone wants one but not as crazy as rolex ss models your lucky to have 10% off. I remember when omega released the moonphase chronograph with the foot print in 2016 I go crazy and wanted one right away but unfortunately no discount due to its new model and people asking for it. I got it recently nov 2018 and managed to get it with 20% off and tax refund of 9.6%. But like what I said thats me if you want it you go get it forget about the price as long as you’re happy.
I own a speedy, but I’m not a chronograph guy. But I do like that one. Plus it fits you well. Buy what you like since you’re the one that has to wear it. I say go for it.
Do it..... do it! On a more serious note, if you like it and can see yourself wearing it, just go for it.
