I saw this one listed too, though after it had already sold. Is it just me or do the lume and dial scrapes on this one look a LOT like the second one from ChicagoFrog earlier in this thread? :cautious: At first I thought another example had surfaced but the more I look at it and this thread the more I doubt it.

Are my eyes good enough to see it wasn't my ex flame?

At that condition, I don't think anyone's willing to pay that much.

@Cad290 it pretty "tropical". If it was a Rolex some would pay triple!!!

I guess the market has spoken.

Yes it has a replacement crown, movement looks very bad, case looks a little soft. I think that dial would look pretty nice with a good relume though. Wouldn’t be a bad project watch if it was several thousand dollars cheaper

I must question the chrono register hands...

Yes, chrono and subdial hands are all incorrect and have been taken from something else. The unsigned bridge in the movement is also a big red flag with this one, unfortunately. Also wonder if the hands have been matched (not ultimately something that would stop me from purchasing if the rest of the condition was terrific).

Finally I managed to join the Geometer owners club today.

A wabi sabi look and a real trade off. This one comes with original box and filled papers dated from 1957 so I decided go for the full set and accept the imperfections of this very watch.

Now that I finally got it on my wrist I can really say my preference goes to the Geometer rather than a 2915 Speedy, design wise. My taste, not intending to open any debate here.

Wow, looks fantastic -- wonderful example and big congrats!
I'll tell you what else has jumped out at me in this excellent thread: the sub-dials on the white and black dial versions are very clearly stepped and engine turned, while on the brown dial examples they are all flat, shallowly recessed and without engine turning to the interior. This indicates to me that these brown dials were A) either meant to be and started as brown at manufacture or B) whatever process used to manufacture them, which included leaving them with flat sub-registers, has led to the even aging of those dials to brown over time.
As so often happens in the vintage watch world, very interesting minutiae comes to light with enough participation and verified examples, leading to new insights (at least for me -- I never really noticed that sub-register difference before now).
So thanks to all who participated and congrats to all the Geometer owners, especially @Faz for pioneering the knowledge base on these rare birds way back when!
All the best & happy collecting,
    Tom

Wow!!! Paperwork and packaging? Amazing! Certainly gives some pertinence that the Geometer is the 'egg' rather than the 'chicken'.

I can't help but to post pics of, in my view, historical watches. The Speedmaster's lineage needs no introduction but the Geometer is simply one of those chronographs that managed to spark something important without intending to do so.

My old flame...safe and sound in the hands of a fine gentleman..and in my opinion, not taking away from @kov jaw dropping acquisition, the very finest example of the Rodania Geometer

...and (ok, the reissue ) and I chuckle, legendary Speedmaster!
