It's sealed and I don't want to open,
    but curiosity is killing me
    From a 1970 Speedmaster paperwork.

Have you considered steaming it open so you don't damage it?

There should be two booklets inside. One is a standard Omega guarantee, along with a listing of service centers worldwide (as of 1970). The other should be an instruction booklet that resembles this one from 1975:

    Hope this helps,

How about a Certificate of High Precision?

One of mine is like that, in an envelope with the serial number stamped on it.

Yep, here's some pics for you.

Also, in a "previous life", I was trained to find out what was in "certain packages", just so we didn't get any "surprises"

A quick method was to spray the item with a special solvent which makes the opaque paper transparent for a short time and then vaporises and leaves no evidence (the important bit ;-)).

Unfortunately you can't get hold of the spray we used, but a fine spray of methylated spirits does a similar job.

    Anyway, pics

    Wow Jim. Thanks!
I have never seen one of those. Very cool.
    But what of hk's comment?
The envelope is exact same style/size with movement number in
same place. Hmmm. Got to be something similar, right.
    Anyone else?
