Anyone in on the Timor Kickstarter?

I see the name Grana mentioned several times and hoping you can find one for the same asking price as the Timor re-issue. Well good luck with that one, since the Grana is the rarest of all the Dirty Dozen with only 1000 actually produced, and there are many a collector that have 11 of the 12 issues and just have not been able to find one because they are that rare. Vertex released their re-issue a few years ago and they were selling for over $3000.00 and you really had to be invited to purchase one.

Yeah, I thought it was odd expecting to find the rarest at a very low price point. There are plenty of these to pick from - I used to have this Vertex and it was reasonably priced...a lot less than the re-issue...

I saw a collector liquidating a whole collection of military watches locally two years ago. Among them were two dirty dozen watches, an Omega that was way out of my ballpark at 2.5k Euro if I remember correctly and the Grana for which he wanted 900 Euro. I guess that the possibility of getting one then stuck on my mind since I regretted not getting the watch so much, therefore the 1k assumption. I have not taken into factor the recently acquired popularity. Also, the market for wristwatches in my country tends to be a little flat compared to other countries, sometimes with differences up to 10% on the vintage market compared to what a similar piece would sell for on ebay.
I severely underestimated the rarity. I also thought that the production number was more at around 1500 for the Grana, but I'm more inclined to believe you @kneadking
Thank you for enlightening me @Archer and @kneadking

As has been mentioned, Alpina and some other established brands have used Kickstarter.

The recently released Enicar book was funded through Kickstarter and I bought this from William L 1985 through Kickstarter.

Imagine an automatic three register vertical clutch column wheel chronograph, nicely executed for under $600 USD.

Movement is Seiko NE-88A, similar to the 8R39 movement.

One has to pick and choose when it comes to Kickstarter projects I would suppose, but I like the platform.

Every company was a start-up at one time.

I think it is a very well 'homaged' and finished watch. I do find it odd though that it is priced at more than one can still get an original.

A nice, original Grana WWW is now upwards of £10k
