I had one in my basket but at £4,200 plus VAT on import it made it too spicy a meatball for me. Nice looking though. All sold out now. https://www.calibre11.com/2018-heuer-autavia-jo-siffert-collectors-edition-cbe2114/
That's a really nice looking watch, but no I hadn't seen it. Absolutely beautiful. Smartest thing that they've ever done is start dropping the "TAG" from anything vintage inspired.
I love the look of this watch, wonder how it sits on the wrist. Only hesitation I would have is the fact that Tag has been going to the re-edition well now way too many times.
Just wondering, but does anyone know if the new 02 Autavia fits on a 6.5" wrist? I haven't seen many wrist shots of the re-edition, and I'm on the fence as it is...
wow, really a beautiful watch - limited to 100 (!) pieces. That is a real limitation compared to Omega LEs. you should have pulled the trigger
Hang on - vat on import? Thought because it was coming from Switzerland I wouldn't have to pay anything. I know they're not in the EU, but thought they had a free trade agreement? So how much will I have to pay on import then?! It fits, although it's pretty much on the borderline. Here it is on my 6.5" wrist. Won't fit under a shirt cuff easily but I can live with it I think. Would I have preferred it to be thinner and smaller? Oh yes!
It's an enormous chunky lump on the bracelet, but I haven't tried it on a strap - in my experience, that does make a difference. Fortunately even if you don't have a dedicated watch store near you (like a Tourneau) they're easy to find in department stores - find your nearest Macy's etc and they'll likely have one available to try on. When you consider TAG pumps out 10x the "limited edition" model lines that even Omega do on an annual basis, it doesn't really make a difference.
Here it is on my 6.5" wrist. Definitely a very chunky watch that has a lot of wrist presence. I think it definitely could work but it depends on your tastes. It's a tad too thick for me.
You have to pay customs for deliveries from Switzerland. There is just freedom of movement (CH is also part of Schengen) but no customs free trade. Customs Agreements apply e.g. for Monaco (which are not in the EU), maybe Luxemburg an Liechtenstein (not sure about the last two).
Customs for watches from Switzerland is according to my knowlege EUR 0,80 + 19% VAT (on the article price + postage + customs) so for CHF 5600 its approx EUR 940.
That is pretty thick, but such a good looking watch. Well done... especially the black with white sub-dials.
Two mm thinner (and perhaps a thinner bezel as well) and the new Autavia would be irresistible. I prefer the LE versions personally - both this most recent one and the Jack Heuer version. Here’s the standard one on my 7.25” wrist:
Hopefully they will release a regular production version this year. Was looking at the Autavia but not fond of the 2.5 min subdial.
I stay with my Autavia JH 85th, is the one that Jack Heuer designs with a lot of pride, the tuned called Jo Sifeert has nothing to do with this model, besides they made me a great discount the day I bought it and I enjoy it a lot next week I get this leather strap racing, see how it looks
I like it, too bad they had to make it 42mm, change the bezel and add a date. Would much rather have the vintage one, eventhough this one is great looking aswell.
