I'm just a wee bit skeptical. It's reported that the entire Luna program returned a total of 0.326kg of samples, almost certainly composed of granular soil and dust. Enough solid basalt to make 25 watch cases? Hardly.

Always an off chance the Moon rocks used were from the Tom Miller estate.

What's more, Analog Watch Co. says that the rock came from a Luna flight in 1974. There were no Luna missions in 1974. The sample return missions are:

    Luna 16 -- 1970 -- 101 grams returned

    Luna 20 -- 1972 -- 55 grams returned

    Luna 24 -- 1976 -- 170 grams returned

Addendum: could have been a secret Luna flight from 1974, that returned lots of really big chunks of olivine basalt.

Not true. These watches have nothing to do with lunar rock/soil because we all know all these moon landings were a hoax!
