I've been meaning to take a dive into vintage watches and wanted to start with a classic Omega Seamaster. I was looking at this model from their website: http://www.timelyclassics.com/porta...duct&filter_name=omega&page=8&product_id=1259 The caseback seems to indicate reference 14700 1 SC. I did a search on the Omega reference database and got something that looks different. Although it is only a 14700 reference. I didn't know the difference. https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-omega-ko-14700 I did a Google search for "Omega 14700 1 SC" and there are a lot of model watches that look similar. But I can't tell for sure. Can anyone help me?
That is the same reference in the listing and the OVD, just different dial/handset variations. The case on the watch for sale looks nice, but the quality of the photos is not good enough for me to judge the condition of the dial. I can definitely see some discoloration and spotting, but I really can't tell how bad it is.
I bought my first Omega from Ron and other brands as well. Two things about him: He takes shitty, low res photos and, although his prices are high, he negotiates. His descriptions are pretty accurate (he'll say if the dial is refinished) and he'll always answer questions or provide additional photos, if requested.
If the bracelet will fit your wrist that's not a bad price for a serviced, sharp cased Seamaster with a no date dial. Those are pretty desirable nowadays...
Not to make it smaller, there's a couple of ways to do that. Extra links, now there's a bigger problem...
