In your first pics the holes in the tang look too big for the rivets.
What stops the scales from moving around?
Glue?
Holes in tang make for a assortment of pins or Corby bolts in construction but also make a great hollows for epoxy to hold. The scales would probably hold without pins as the holes take up a tonne of epoxy.
In the left one below just two Corby bolts hold the scales on well and are removable.

路Not a collector but I like these two handmade knives from Sardinia: Pattada and Arburesa. They take their name from two towns (Pattada and Arbus) and are knives used by shepherds. The Pattada is a slaughtering knife while the Arburesa is used for skinning.

For some reason this reminded me of how British troops lacking cold weather gear and camo suited to snow found that artillery had killed a herd of sheep so they skinned them on the spot to make thigh length fleece vests.

I had an old and very cheap Finnish made laminated blade knife I managed to break the point off of. The center portion of those blades is extremely brittle but holds a scalpel sharp edge forever. I had to shorten the blade a bit due to the less brittle exterior laminations de-laming a fraction of an inch at the break.
After reshaping the blade I removed the wooden grip and made a guard and pommel for it from aluminum alloy. I mounted a stacked leather washer grip in exactly the same shape as yours. In fact if finished these would be near twins. Perhaps I'll finish that project one day.

路I am not a collector by any means, but I have carried a pocket knife almost daily since I was about 13. I have been looking for a new EDC. Not looking to spend a fortune on a one off custom but enjoy decent quality in what I own. Does anyone have any recommendation(s)? Prefer a folder, I am left handed so studs need to be on both sides or moveable, but a smaller fixed is not out of the question. Thanks for any advice from the more educated than I.

路Im am in NY, so have certain restrictions unfortunately. I have had spyderco PM2, loved it but it disappeared during a move. I would like to keep the price to around $200 max. as its just an edc to be used mostly for opening boxes, general use around the house, garage, etc. would like it to be a 4 finger knife, I am left handed (dont know if that makes much of a difference)

路路This Space for RentHeads-up to forum members in the DC area, or the wider mid-Atlantic area, that have an interest in kitchen knives. On Sunday, August 1 there will be a get-together in Alexandria with people from a couple kitchen knife forums as well as others. it's an open-house format, generally from noon - 7 pm. Attendees contribute food/ drinks, and many bring knives for others to see/ try out. We usually wind up with close to 40 people moving through during the day, and at the last one (pre-Covid) there was about 300 knives to play with. Japanese knives, custom maker knives, etc. as well as vintage. There should be a knifemaker or two, and one or two owners of a DC-area sharpening business.

A couple of decades ago I was able to establish a wholesale account with a large West Coast Case dealer. I had quite a few case stag handle "dot" knives already. Yes, I found the candy store. I bought only Case stag handle knives as I figured genuine stag will be harder to come by in the future. Over a period of 3 or 4 years I bought every single stag handle case knife, including full sets, that was available. Between old and NIB, I had damn near a hundred. When I decided to cash out I contacted Bruce Voyles auction house in Tennessee. Bruce sold them all and I got paid lots 馃榾
