In your first pics the holes in the tang look too big for the rivets.
What stops the scales from moving around?

Not a collector but I like these two handmade knives from Sardinia: Pattada and Arburesa. They take their name from two towns (Pattada and Arbus) and are knives used by shepherds. The Pattada is a slaughtering knife while the Arburesa is used for skinning.
Have you ever considered a Case? I've been carrying a Case trapper for around twenty years now, it's a great knife that won't break the bank.
