I realize this dial has been “restored”. Was it originally black? This is a manual and I’d really like an automatic but that dial is sexy as hell to me. Is there any reason to avoid this watch? It’s a 286 caliber and I’m not sure if that is desirable or not. Basically I love the look of this watch but I’d love to find it in a later automatic ...

Very unlikely the dial was originally black, restoration has polished off the edges of the figures, kind of a mess now. Hands look incorrect as well, case back very pitted.

    Overpriced by 2X or more.

Thanks for the honest reply and insight. My thought was if this watch was $600 I’d buy it for an everyday watch but the asking price seemed high for what it is. I didn’t realize it had been over polished and the hands had been replaced.
