Just so many grails he listed and is always $1 starting bid but is told not to bid but buy directly from the description price. Very underpriced even so. Anyone got any happy ending with the seller ?

This is a well known fraud practise!

Happens every now and then on ebay - avoid at any circumstances!

Have you checked his other listings? He offers 36833 items at the moment...

It's a scammer who repeatedly appears on eBay using the same tactics.

It’s the same scammer and tactic - every so often he hacks an unsuspecting, well established eBay account with 1,000s of feedbacks. All the items “offered for sale” are items previously sold on eBay.

On one occasion I tried to contact this seller, the $1 start had me bothered, and even with an offer there was no response.

I reported an item he had for sale today and it was removed. In the description it says only “buy it now”. All bids will be removed. Yet the item is for auction.

If eBay cannot receive your price in the system (there is no buy now) then the only way to pay him is contacting him directly and paying outside of eBay. Massive red flag

As others have noted, it’s a well known scam and a seller who asks you to deal outside of eBay is a huge red flag. I’ve reported him previously as I’m sure other OF members have as well. It’s infuriating that he continues to reappear on eBay and attempt to scam unsuspecting buyers. It’s like those trick birthday candles that relight after you’ve blown them out!

Much like Youtube and Meta and the scammer ads/profiles ... there's a fine line of "well, they're a paying customer, oops" and "oh, thanks for telling us we can't police all the content" -- except they can CLEARLY police the content that don't agree with. So, ergo, big tech needs, nay, WANTS scammers on their sites because they are low hanging fruit and paying customers. They hide behind their section 230 protection of platform vs publisher with lots of cash spent lobbying our government to keep it that way
