Out of curiosity- if this lucky eBay story isn’t the truth, what do you conjure in your mind?
I'm convinced now 😀

That’s the spirit! It’s the holiday season, time to believe in miracles 😉

(Edit:, unless you’re the original seller, in that case it’s time to pour a stiff drink)

Perhaps the buyer can send the seller a few cartons of stiff drinks 🙄

Makes me quite sad for the seller who’s been told. Not a Xmas story in my book and a despicable thing to do.
I never thought even a hobby would reveal so many lowlifes.

What makes me sad to be honest is selling Rolex and Omega parts without doing the tiniest bit of research in order to understand what’s in your posession...
But I bet the seller received a lot of PMs since the buyer spilled immediately the beans on his acquisition & provided the link for his listing, so I wouldn’t be shocked if someone offered the poor seller a fat sum to sell outside of Ebay...

It’s been stated above the buyer has already received the lot.
I have no idea who that seller is, but there could be many people who’d have no idea on how to do “homework” on a bunch of parts.

That’s what had people scratching their heads from the beginning. Apparently, the seller lists watch parts lots, including mil spec cases etc. How he didn’t recognize those inserts looked like Rolex items is beyond me. In fact, nowhere in the listing or description was the word “Rolex”.

Given that he knows how to use eBay, and he knows they are bezels, one would think he’d do some comparable searches on eBay? Crazy, I’m still in awe.

I agree it was very indiscreet of the buyer to reveal the source. I hope he sends the seller the profits of at least one bezel to cleanse his soul.

The buyer didn’t reveal the seller (but he did mention it was an eBay buy). The buyer posted one photo of the lot, and someone tracked it back, found the “ended listing”, and posted the link to it. I agree it was unnecessary to post the link; and it was utterly unnecessary to contact the seller to rub his face in it.

I think he could have foreseen this and waited to post his own pictures. Anyhow I hope he does the decent thing and eases the sellers pain.

Ouch. This would hurt!
Cool... 16 posts in the last hour or so and only four of them more than 8 words long. You’ll hit the 200 in no time at all. Almost there 👍

Wow. This reminds me of the guy who bought an original picture of Jesse James as a kid for $10 on ebay. Now it's worth millions.

So, it is STILL possible to get lucky with eBay finds?? Wow, what a story. I guess we are all a bit jealous about not being THAT lucky guy...
