Back in the day I cruised around Long Islands beaches in my 84 CJ 7, really miss it!🥰

When it was new...

How it looked most of the time...

And yes, being able to spray it out with a hose was handy!😁

Love these pics! That Islander looks amazing. I've always wanted a YJ Sahara.

I don't have any pics of mine handy, but I have always had Jeeps primarily, with a mix of other 4WDs. To me, the Jeeps have been functional and reliable vehicles. The Land Rovers and Toyotas require much more maintenance, I think just because they're more complex. I have always enjoyed having them as a hobby and sharing them with friends that have more conservative vehicles.
Current:
1976 CJ5, 1999 XJ, 1970 SIIA, 1995 FZJ80
Past:
1998 XJ, 1994 YJ

My snow vehicle for many years was a basic YJ hardtop, manual 4 cylinder. A terrible ride and very slow, but got the job done and never failed me. The best feature was the ability to wash out the interior with a hose.
I was lucky enough to do Rubicon trail I a YJ.

1989 Road Rhino....closing in on 300,000 miles...
Grew up riding in these things back in the 70’s-80’s, loved them. I had an ‘00 XJ which I sold in a moment of weakness in ‘07, regretted it the second the guy drove it away (picture guy chasing his Jeep down the street). I will have another- have been on passive hunt for the right one for about a year or so but things keep getting in the way.

now about that pagoda top SL you had hiding by the Jeep in your first pic...🥰

Forgot I had previously posted to the thread...it had been awhile. The Pagoda is a '67 250SL. The guy I bought it from years ago redid the interior. I had the body stripped down to bare metal and repainted....rebuilt the engine. Great cars....not going to win any street races off a stop light, but they are wonderful on a winding road.

When I was a kid we had a blue 56 or 57 Willys Jeep, my youngest son owns an 87 Wrangler. I will have to go dig up a photo of the old Willys.

My Jeep comes with a great story too. A couple of years ago I was the beneficiary of a small inheritance. One day, my kids were asking me If I was planning on doing anything with the money. I said it is going in the bank unless I come across a Jeep like one I had seen just recently. A yellow one with the most loud 80's striping and decals.
Well, we got home and later that afternoon I went on Craigslist and searched Jeep Wranglers. To my complete and utter amazement the exact Jeep I had seen a few weeks before had just been listed 5 hours prior. I called the guy and made an appointment to view the car. The next morning it was mine. 77k miles totally stock with all receipts. He shoots... He SCOOOOOOOOOORES!!!
