Any love for 6105/6106 divers?

I want a vintage diver and debate whether a 6105/6106 would fit the bill. 6159 is too expensive.. and so is 8L35.

I know it's usually ionly 70m or so. But I won't go diving. I just want it rain proof basically.(and ideally washing hands with cold water without soap)

I often see people here showing 6159, 7002 or later, but never a 6106. Anyone wants to show?

I'm a big fan of the 6105-8000/9 watches, but you might also consider a 62mas, which is my favorite. I doubt you really need more photos of these common watches.

Now.. I want one too. Imho looks better than 8120.

I was about to say you have way too many similar ones but then I looked at my KS watches 😁 Guilty as charged.

Any love for 6105/6106 divers? Oh, hell yes. The 6105 — especially the 6105-811x — established the design language for decades of Seiko divers. And they’re crazy durable as well.

And the 70m divers might be the ultimate slippery slope for a Seiko collector, simply because there are so many references to choose from. From the first generation 6106-8100, with its various dials, to the 6119-8460 “Gene Kranz” and the Rally Divers like the 6106-8227/8229, there are some great examples of ‘60s design. And the Daini Rally Divers, like the 5128-8120/8130, are where the slippery slope gets absolutely treacherous.

I’ll post a few pics if I get around to it, but yes, I’ve blown some time and money on these 😀

Speaking of Seiko divers, I picked up another one of my favorites. I don't even really want to count anymore. If the dial and hands are clean, I will probably buy it. This one needs a new crystal and a scrub-a-dub, but it's running well and the date is turning over nicely, which is sometimes an issue.

Nice find! The dial and hands on that one look unusually good.
