There isn't a Sub I don't find handsome. But on my wrist, (on my puny skinny wrist) they just seem too large. Plus, outside of splashing at the beach or swimming in the condo pool, it isn't a watch I actually would use. I've had GMTs and actually used them when traveling...but they also felt clunky on me. But the sub is an icon...a beautifully designed and built tool watch. There are a lot of imitations...but nothing like the real thing.

I agree.
I have near 7 1/2 Inch wrists but also find them to bulky. I know that’s the look some people enjoy but for me anything bigger than 36mm with a few exceptions such as ultra thins looks out of proportion. I wear anything from 32mm - 36mm and find the subtlety of smaller watch part of the charm.

Have always enjoyed my 1665. I have had for years and still is one of my favorites and usually don't wear with the bracelet.

These look great. I enjoy the era before metal lume surrounds.

Thank you @Dsloan. I also prefer very much the tritium painted lume.
This is the real vintage look to me 👍

Fantastic watches! 👍

I have a (matte) 'Triple Six' but would a 1665 (Red or White) 😀

I also have a "Triple Six" that would go in a heartbeat for a 1665!

IMO the 1665's are the most underrated vintage rolexes on the market.

So many great pieces in this thread!

I enjoy the era before metal lume surrounds.

I was looking at my current production sea dweller and it occurred to me that the metal lume surrounds serve the same purpose as the metal revealed around lume on a vintage gilt dial - They are reflective and catch the light in dim conditions

Once I thought about it in those terms the metal surrounds were just another practical and incremental change in the evolution of the watch. Not the anathema they are made out to be.

BTW A 1665 great white is the one that got away 9 years ago. The one I wished I had bought. They are awesome watches.

This thread is killing me. A DRSD has always been my grail. The prices got out of control for a while, but seem to be coming back down a little know. I might be a buyer if the prices keep falling.
