Any issue letting the stopwatch run all the time?

My wife bought me a Seamaster 300m Chrono 9 (Ref. 210.30.44.51.03.001) for our anniversary.

Is there any issue with letting the stopwatch (long sweep hand) run all the time?
EG: Does it cause excessive wear and tear on the mechanism, etc?

It’s been discussed many times. It’s okay to keep it running. A very marginal wear and tear won’t matter during next service… Enjoy your timepiece as you like…

Unless I'm mistaken, that model uses a vertical clutch. If so, there's no extra wear induced using the stopwatch.

The only issue is being sure to synchronize the chrono hand with the running seconds hand otherwise the OCD demons will get you (and it just looks weird if they aren't aligned)

It is a vertical clutch model indeed, Cal 9900

He will only get approval if the minute and hour counters are also in sync.

Please check your spelling. CDO is preferred. (Alphabetical...the way it SHOULD be. LOL)

Can one of you point me to a doc/page that describes the "vertical clutch?"

I do this when I'm traveling. You start the chrono at noon/midnight loca before you travel. Then change the time to be whatever the local time is when you get there

Obviously only works if you've got a 12 hour counter

Congratulations on your new watch! I do it all the time with my speedmaster 57 (9906) to track a second time zone at a glance. Omega specifically talks about using the watch this way in a promo video and in some you tube interviews. As Archer has said many times on this subject…as a precaution just don’t let it run continuously without ever stopping it.
