Welcome to the forums. It's a poor photo (blurry and with compression artifacts), but at first glance this appears to be a legit rail-track dial. If you are unsure, I'd recommend searching for other examples and comparing the details.

This website is also a great resource for learning more: http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com/

P.S. The watch shows signs of severe rotor-rub, so that will need to be addressed at service.

Yea it’s really hard to work with that one blurry photo of the dial, you need a high resolution shot of the dial with nothing distorting it

Hi. This a is a know rail track dial variation. You can find many threads to compare here on OF searching with the reference 14393 and the keyword “railtrack”.

As said above you need better pictures to be sure. Use the magnifier app on your phone or something similar. Make sure you photograph the text and the rail track s as closely and focused as possible.

He said it was his brother. He said he purchased it in the 60s the guy is old. Unknown service history. I got him down to $600. Should I risk it. Would like it for my collection but vintage watches can be dicey

If it's local, you can meet him with cash and get a good luck in person. If not, I'd probably see if he can send better photos of the dial. But if he can't I'd probably buy it anyway. That's a good price.

I also agree with Dan here. The price is ok, so of you have the cash and want to take a risk it’s not a bad buy. If you buy to resell that might be harder, the rail track tend to be slow sellers from what I have noticed (and not sure why frankly - they are very nice).

The case looks pretty good, the dial isn’t pristine but doesn’t looked patinated like hell. The rail track often show some patina as far as I have seen. The movement needs a service so factor this in - 300 to 500$ depending where you are.

I think on Ebay that one would bring at least $1k

Don’t plan on reselling. I want a dog leg constellation. I did know much about dial and I don’t want to over pay

If you want a dog leg, save your money and wait for a dog leg. This is a lyre lug model. They are very nice, I have one similar with the rail track.

My mistake. I thought this was called dog leg. I got to brush up on my omega lingo.

What does it matter what it’s called if you like it??

This one is called lyre lug. Dog leg has different lugs - with more facets and angles.

Both of them are part of iconic vintage lines - with high demand.

But if you like this case style, what does it matter if it’s not a dogleg.
Doglegs seem to be in vogue right now, but that doesn’t mean you need to chase one because that’s what many others are doing

I didn’t know. I love the case. It looked similar to me so I assumed that’s what it was. I will pick it up tomorrow
