Found this in a public park in 2001, left it with the city lost & found, and a year later became the owner since no one had claimed it. I'm not that interested in the value, just curious about what year it was made. I've browsed hundreds of photos, but can't find anything similar (particularly the wedges at 12, 3, 6 and 9 instead of numbers or the classic double bars). Any hints anyone?
You actually found a solid gold vintage Seamaster, which then became yours as no-one claimed it? Well, prepare for an onslaught of "Hey, I dropped that watch 15 years ago..." What a fantastic find - litteraly! The dial is very good, there are no signs of abuse or redialing, heck, it's even covered by an original Omega crystal Love that you have the original crown, too. Have a look here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/yellow-gold-omega-seamaster.22849/ Seems to be the twin of yours - now go find a strap for that beauty!!!
Many thnx for the advice and suggestions. Any idea about age? @ConElPueblo: indeed, the photos posted in the thread you suggested seem to depict the same watch. Can I assume it must be a 1962 model? Thanks again!
It's from around then, for sure. If you want to be certain, you'll need to look up the serial number on one of the Omega serial no. charts available online. If you'd like to do a little more research, look up "unishell Seamaster" and "front loading Seamaster", there's a lot of information out there
