Hey gang!

Have this amazing Omega Seamaster 30 that I am looking for some official documentation for to show its military provenance.

Dates to 1964 which would be Pre-RSAF, potentially Singapore Air Defence Command (SADC) era.

There was this similar one at Christies with the Ranchero dial that falls in a close serial range
https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-6028471

Almost identical one at Time Anagram with very close serial as well
https://timeanagram.com/en/products/31085?_pos=1&_sid=8d34bb94f&_ss=r

Just wondering if there is anything out there from there that would directly tied this to being commissioned for military use is all 😀

More pics here if it helps

Thanks!

Nothing I’ve seen ties these in with military issued.
I kept a track of these for a few years and around 2/3 had what looked like some kind of personnel number engraved on the back.
This is validated by another collector I spoke to who says he’s seen a number with provenance from RAF personnel, particularly from the far east.

However, neither of us could find any documentation or evidence to say they were actually issued so my best guess is they were available in the NAAFI and servicemen bought them as personnel items, with many choosing to have them engraved.

Here is another oddity to add in the mix. This is one of 3 that have surfaced since around 2010. All the same dial, Seamaster 30, cal 286, case reference 135.007-63. All have identical case back markings including what looks like an issue number PRXX-64. Movement number starting with 2078. This one came from a retired watchmaker in Queensland

Beautiful piece!

Can someone weigh in on the type of shock protection that is being used? It is not incabloc, I have never seen this shape before!

Could it be that this movement was assembled in South East Asia, with a different shock protection? It could also help with the opener's quest, as I can see the same type of spring on the watch from timeanagram.

Appreciate the input! Yeah, Im in the same boat. I am going to see if I can get my hands on the extract from Time Anagram and see if that can shed any light. Appreciate ya sharing the other thread! will read through that.
