Hi everyone
I'm looking to find out a bit more about this watch I've had for years.
My local watchmaker and jeweller states its 1920s to 1930s and maybe an insert of some kind. His Swiss movement repair specialist is perplexed as to what it is.
I'm looking to restore it too
Any thoughts would be appreciated

No sorry but it's very plane with no markings at all hence the puzzle haha.

I understand that and didn't mean to offend.
I'm new to this forum and I am taking the watch to a trusted well established dealer local to me to help me look into its history as to what it was used for and costs to repair

I also asked for the size of the movement...

Or maybe you can read the numbers and letters below the balance wheel with a loupe?
This info will let us know the calibre (movement type).

OK firstly its a photo I have that my local jeweler took that I have posted so that's the only pic of the movement
So unfortunately if I actually understood what a balance wheel with a loupe meant I probably still couldn't help hahaha
Really sorry about that

Interesting. A deck clock maybe?
That's a good call
my father and uncle were in the merchant navy
Unfortunately I have no living relatives to ask

I have done some math using the provided diameter of the case... movement will probably be a cal 38.5 L which is a pocket watch movement.

Well I've had her looked at and with new glass and 2nd hand put in I think she looks great. And not bad for 86 years old
Still unsure as to what she was used for
Instrument panel or similar
Maybe ill never find out

My guess is that it's a travel "clock" that would have been pressed into a folding case.

I believe it's a 1930's omega bullseye dial, pocket watch..
