Any Idea What This is Worth?

Hi Everyone, could anyone help with what this is worth in AUD? It is an Omega Constellation Automatic in 18kt gold. A jeweller I know had a guy trade it to him as part payment for a custom ring. The Jeweller was going to melt the gold down but when I saw it I told him he can’t do that. He has no idea about watches. I realise the reference number and a photo of the movement would be helpful but he was busy when I saw it and could only get the photos provided. I couldn’t find anything on Chrono24 like it. Is it collectable? I am trying to encourage him to keep it or I may buy it from him depending on the price.

Is the gold bracelet Omega and solid gold / what is the width? If so, dibs 😀

The bad/good news is, the worth is at most its weight in gold, my opinion, for some reason there's extremely low demand for solid gold watches, coated gold watches even fetch more relatively, it's crazy stupid, but likely the cause is price range and buying power, options in the higher ranges

Hi Kaplan, I believe so. I don’t have the measurements but I could get them from him when I see him next.

I forgot to add that it works, it also has a box. I’ll get a photo of it as well.

This particular style is not one that is highly sought after. It might be hard to find a buyer, but at a minimum the value is the melt value of the gold plus a couple hundred for the movement if it is in decent condition. I think the bracelet is aftermarket, but I am not confident there.

I also believe the bracelet is likely not Omega, so an inner photo of the clasp will be nice for "science" 😀 If it's Omega, there'll likely be stamps / logo - usually they put the logo on the clasp too, so the missing clasp logo points to the other direction

Agree the style is the problem here not the gold case.
