I doubt it is the 6497.
Maybe an AS of some sort.

Looks as though there is a number stamped into the plate beneath the rim of the balance wheel, at about 3:00 in the above picture. There is also likely a maker’s trade mark by that number. Need that info.

In my first reply, I wrote “looks to me like Unitas 6497”. Well, it does resemble the Unitas movement. I also referred to the fact that this movement is normally used in pocket watches because of its size. With nothing to compare for size in the photo, who knows. It may be a 6497 re-cased in a wrist watch case, which apparently is a conversion often done. Need more info from the OP.

Google watch movement database and look at AS movements withat that number first under the balance. Then Unitas. Then open up the mfgs.

    The database is pink.

You are right, i will see when i can get it to a watchmaker to open it up again, although I'm cautious against moving any parts to reveal the number

Looking at the bottom half of the logo, it could be several things.....

All the same, one is a different size. but all from the same family, I can drive it down more if you showed what was on the other side. Basically its a Perseux based movement that was licensed either a 320 or 330

Definitely not a 6497 - click, crown wheel, and pallet bridge stand out as very obvious differences to the 6497, plus other more subtle differences. In addition, the layout of the movement is completely wrong for a 6497, which has the small seconds opposite the crown, so would be at 9 o'clock on a wrist watch where the crown is at 3. This watch has it at 6, so if it were of that family, it would be a 6498...

It's a Peseux of some kind as noted. ETA also makes a version of this now known as an ETA 7001...here is one where you can see the similarities:

Without knowing the size it would be difficult to pin it down much more than that though.

    Cheers, Al

That is when a Ligne gauge comes handy.
