Any idea how many watches Omega made per year? or per model?

An estimation would work too

Like:
1960: 120.000
1961: 125.000
...
1972: 220.000
etc.

A secondary refinement to the question is whether there's a way to know how many of a singular model are out there - I mainly wonder how many 168.017's were made, for example if the serials are sequential, maybe just finding the smallest and highest serial per year is enough to estimate the # for that year?

I looked at swatch companies official report then a few companies that follow them. They are publicly traded but that doesn’t mean they have to break down how every model sells like how apple buries iPhone sales on occasion but people who study the stock can sometimes pull out interesting information. I am not one of them and I don’t know if such numbers exists as I got too tired to poke around.

The difficulty you have with this theory is that movts were used in several references at the same time as the c-case
For example:
Cal 561 in:
168.004
168.005
168.010

Cal564 in:
168.004
168.005
168.010
168.015
168.018
168.025

plus the Seamaster chronometers

There are records concerning when watch references started but none it seems about when they finished.

this thread used to be a useful sticky
Full list of calibres - it has production movt numbers but even then it lumps 561 & 562 together

Thank you, it's a treasure trove of information

The 550 family is very wide, but the 750 family is comparatively simpler, the 510.000 total units produced puts an upper cap on things

I agree. (but you did mention 168.017s)

As far as 750-series, other than the C-cases, I think there is only the 168.016 to consider as far as Constellations go.
However, I'm sure there will be Seamasters to take into account too.
