All this computer talk and supply chain shortages got me in buying mode. More an office PC than a games engine but it should be a lot better than my 2013 i7...... I suspect the cable management will be easier as well :0).

At uni in the early '90s, I conned my parents into buying me a PC "for my dissertation". Never looked back. Have played a wide range of shooters, RPG and flight sims over the years. Currently I am mostly flying hueys in Arma3's excellent recent Vietnam add-on.

Well, after Microsoft buying Activision... Sony is now buying Bungie for a little 3.6B$

That seems like an enormous amount. I remember Bungie being known for Halo series but do they make any successful games right now?

Dreamcast > all others.

Still have my 7 year old Xbox One. Hardly have time to play anymore.
Currently in the "rotation" though is Forza, Far Cry 5 and Halo Infinite.

Bad habits..... In a loft somewhere I still have Astro wars, Scramble and Computer Battle ships - which should all still work :0) (not my pictures but these are the games). We have come a long way / VR headsets etc.
Ah, Battleship! I'm showing my age, but I remember playing the non-electronic version all the time with friends when I was a kid. I also loved playing Risk. Back then, the "army" pieces were small colored blocks of wood, not the cheap plastic stuff that comes with the game today.

I was a little disappointed with halo infinite to be honest.

I thought that was activision. Are they planning on making a 3rd? Its been a while hasn't it?
Bungie separated from Activision like 2 years ago, maybe more. I don't think they had plan to, they communicated their Destiny vision/plan for the next 2 years a few months ago. They were rather going into a seasonal model rather than a 3rd game release.

Obviously, I believe people will start raising that question with the new deal, and the impacts on the games development plans/visions.

Battleship was a staple when I was a kid (non-electronic versions, so you had to call out hits and misses). Monopoly, Operation, etc. were the games I played. Video games were in arcades, not really at home. Tempest was my favourite...

Any Crokinole players here?

I've only played it for about an hour or so. So hardly enough time to form a real opinion.
I had/have high hopes though. 4&5 were a real disappointment.
I was also disappointed to learn that Infinite was "open world".
But we'll see. I grew up on Halo, so I have high expectations hah.

I love gaming.
Big Fan of Tomb Raider and adventure/puzzle gaming!
If you have not played Limbo and Inside from Playdead company, you should!
IMO these two games are a must!
Also online I was playing for many years A.V.A (Alliance of Valiant Arms)
It is like Counter Strike but much better and the good news are that is relesing again very soon!

Same here. I played for a few hours and uninstalled it haha. These days I'm either dropping into Warzone or playing an RPG. I have a love/hate relationship with COD the last 5 or so years so my opinion changes based on the current offering. I'm hoping with the latest acquisition and the announcement of COD not coming out yearly anymore, that it will give them time to perfect what they do turn out.

As for my history I've owned every Nintendo up until game cube (wasn't a fan) then grabbed a switch when they came out. I've owned PS1/2/3/4 before getting away from console and switching solely to PC. I have cross play in most games to thank for that.

Built my first PC at the start of Covid as a hobby to keep me sane while there was nothing else to do. Managed to get my hands on a 3070FE and a 3060 both at their respective launch dates. I was even selected in one Newegg "shuffle" to buy another 3070 haha. GPU shortage wasn't an issue for me.

Since we're on the subject of gaming I need to pull up the ol soapbox and suggest my favorite game of all time..... Outerwilds by Annapurna Interactive. Im all for realistic graphics and you won't find that in this title, its more artistic. The game play which is based on exploration and learning made me fall in love with it. The soundtrack is catchy (its my alarm tone every morning when I wake up for work for years now haha) Basically you're a creature of this planet you live on and you wake up on the day you're scheduled to launch into space to explore your/their solar system. You can go to any of the planets you choose in any order you choose. Theres no wrong way to play and only one solution to get to the end. Its super satisfying to play, there's puzzles you gatta figure out ect... My only suggestion to newcomers is buy the game without the DLC and don't consider buying the DLC until you beat the original game. Really hard to explain why because you would have had to play the original game to understand why I'm saying this so just take my advice. Its currently on sale for 15 bucks in Steam. I think I scored it for around 7 bucks years ago but I would gladly have paid 60 like any other AAA title. If anyone who reads this decides to give this game a try, feel free to message me with questions or to just chat about it.

Hop on my friends list. Not sure if I'm under Activision or battle.net under add friends (I think battle.net)

I usually play Duos with randoms but if your on, Trios is the sweet spot in my opinion. Feel free to just jump in my lobby or shoot a request if I'm already in a match.

I started with "Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord" on an Apple II+ in Junior High School. My first gaming machines were an Atari 2600 and a Magnavox Odyssey 2. My first computer was a Commodore 64 and I played a ton of games on it. I just finished Disco Elysium on my current PC and loved it.
