I've heard they don't have many sales, but when they do you better have your wallet ready! :p

The building where Jack Road is located (it is right on top of Nakano station) is full of watch shops, and anime shops if so inclined. JR prices are reasonable with the current exchange rates. Moreover, vintage watches from JR are serviced and come with a 1 year warranty. I picked a 105.003 from them earlier this year, zero issues.

Well just a quick report from shopping in Japan. Bottom line : Tokyo is an amazing place for watch shopping!

Shops like Satin Doll, Jack Road, Quark and Best in Shinjuku, House Kihiroba in Shubuya, are just brilliant stores to browse around. And there are dozens more. Most have stocks of brand new watches ( some half price compared with USA), some nearly new, and a good selection of vintage in very good condition overall.

I saw brand new Omega 300 Master Co-axial SS for $3.3k, 2014 Bullhead for $4.5k and many more. You wont get such a good deal on new Rollies, but they will still be less than elsewhere, and of course you can claim 8% sales tax back as well

You wont get a bargain buying Vintage watches, but some unusual pieces can be found, normally in excellent condition.

I ended up buying a recently serviced 1969 Memomatic, with original 1170/618 bracelet, with a years warranty, keeping time to +2s/ day, all for £1k, which i thought was reasonable. Photos (without the bracelet) below.

    Cheers, paul
