They made it from around 1993 to around 2008. The early ones had tritium. Not sure about yours, I would guess SL so post 1997 but the hand lume looks missing! What is the serial number, you can get a approx date from that. The earliest are at about 53m, the latest around 80m.

If it's a quartz I think it might be the Seamaster 2541.80. Serial would help too. Not sure why there is no red tip on the sweep second though..

Mid size quartz would be 2561.80, the 2541 is full size.

Ah I see, didn't know the refs had further finer distinctions. 2561 would be a better guess then.

This is a tritium version of a 25618000 with a faded seconds hand...

In your second photo in the first post, you can see that the markers are getting slightly yellow, and the hands are not. The hands will often look slightly green on these, so it's possible that your have seen some moisture or something over time that has caused them to turn into what they are, but this is not typical in my experience.

In examples that have tritium dials and hands from this era, they often look like this as they get older:

The markers look a bit like sunny side up eggs, where the hands have a more green tint to the lume. Your dial is starting this process (at least it appears to be in the photos that aren't really overexposed) but isn't quite as far along as the one I'm showing based on your photos.

    Cheers, Al

Are you certain this is tritium Al? If you are, it sure would settle a long standing argument here.

I don't think that is a tritium one, the plots are still green, not the fried egg colour mentioned above. One way to settle it is to post the serial. If it is much past 57m then it'll be SL, before then its likely tritium. Post the serial, or at least the first 4 digits and then the approx date can be ascertained.

On the back of one of the lugs. Its pretty small so you may need magnification to read it.

Then you have your answer. That serial is likely from around 1995-97. Looks like Al was right about the lume being tritium.
