A friend has a Cartier quartz movement watch, cal 175, needs a new coil, so far impossible to source, so is looking for the whole movement, found and tried a 175N, but unsuccessful, so is looking for a 175A or 175L. Is anyone familiar with Cartier quartz movements? Do you know what the differences are to 175A, L and N?

    thanks,
    Dan

Cartier is very restrictive with parts - even the token handful of watchmakers that were able to get accounts after the settling of the lawsuit are mostly only able to swap movements, not order in parts for movements. Is there a reason they can't simply take the watch to Cartier? That is the easiest solution...and they will most likely install a new movement.

    Cheers, Al

Thanks Al, I think he thinks it was be cheaper to source the movement himself and do the switch than send to Cartier. If this is a dead end, then will recommend he send to cartier.
