Hello ! My watchmaker found me this rare Omega of 1952. From what I know, this year Omega released about 3000 Chronometer with this caliber 343 RG and most had a "white" dial and a few had a black dial like this one. If you have any additionnal information I would be interested and grateful ! Thanks,
Tough to be sure from that photo but appears to be an original black dial chronometer, probably reference 2576. A very nice and highly collectible model. If you can post additional clear photos of the dial with hands not obscuring the text and photos of the inside caseback and movement that would be helpful. Cheers
Here are 2 pictures that look better ... but are not really good I know Sorry about that, I don't have another option now to make better pictures.
Thanks. That's what I guess also and that's what my watchmaker told me. I didn't find another for sale.
Is it typical to have a different font color for the “Chronometre” as the “Omega” and “Seamaster”? The chronometer text also seems to be crammed in there. If you’ve seen the movement to know that it’s indeed a 343 that would alleviate some of my concern at least. If it’s original, it’s very nice
Thanks, I don't know if it's typical as I don't really know this model. The watch is full original and yes it's a 343 RG caliber for sure
Yes you might be right, but I can't find any picture of the exact same model, but the models that are close have a different one yes. I need to check that ! Thanks !
The spaces between the hour markers and adjacent minute tick marks are pretty uneven on the right side of the dial. Makes me wonder if the dial face has been refinished at some point.
Damn it ! with the watch in my hands I don't even see that, you have an eagle eye ! We never know, especially with the black dials, but it's not supposed to be refinished.
