Two Longines Legend Divers going up on the block in NYC. Interesting to see that Antiquorum had such different estimates for two very similar watches (15-20k vs 6-9k). Can someone enlighten me about the difference in value and relative rarity between the ref 7150-1 and ref 7042-3 ? Or is that even the right way to frame it?--perhaps the movement is what matters? The expensive one has a caliber 19AS , and the other has a caliber 290 movement.

I think I prefer the full-lume hour hand on the ref. 7150... any thing else I should be looking for here?

I know this has been asked previously, but there was never a satisfactory answer... does anyone have any good resources on these Longines divers? I know of one good page, though it's in Italian.

I posted before finishing the title for this thread. Can one of the mods please change it to something appropriate? Thanks.

There isn't much out there on Longines of any series. :(

Unfortunately it seems the Italian writing is the only one around. Very interesting to see if the 19AS will actually sell for their estimate. And I hope it does. ;)

Well, the 19AS went for considerably more... $11K vs. the not-too-paltry $7500 for the 290. It notably did not reach the pre auction estimates of $15-20k, however.

For my money, I'll take the fully lumed hands on the 290, but the question remains: why the value discrepancy? Do tell.

The 19AS was the first iteration, and collectors like that kind of stuff.

Remember those prices include pretty steep premiums.

Guess AQ took down the catalog because none of the links work anymore.

I think you can link directly to the page by lot number, but yes, I think the catalog is gone now.

Wow those were 2 strong hammer prices . I got my 7042 at less than half that price earlier this year although my watch is not in as good condition as the one in AQ.
