Hi guys, I am a vintage Omega lover yet I am a rookie when it comes about distinguishing 100% original watches from fake/MODs and about understanding the fair price I shall pay for them. I guess I am not the only one in this situation. Hence I suggest using this thread to post the pictures of the watches we own or we wanna buy so the expert ones who feel gracious to us can help us evaluating them. 馃槈. This will also keep the other threads free from this kind of requests

Hi @antquarta

Welcome to OF.

Good initiative, but what you suggest is already being done here. The idea is that a new thread is started for every watch to be discussed. Otherwise it gets too confusing which watch is being talked about.

This is my first one. Omega Automatic 2757-7 SC. It looks great to me but I am not sure it is 100% original. PRICE IS CURRENTLY 1400 USD. The vendor's description says:
" This OMEGA with hammer machine runs, but needs cleaning and fresh oil if it is to serve as an everyday watch. The calendar function switches perfectly.
Originally waterproof case with pressed bottom and "O" seal (see Richon, Reise durch die Zeit, p. 279). Original omega crown. Old Omega buckle.
Work number 14,939,764. Caliber 355. 17 jewels; f = 19800 A / h; power reserve 42h. Gooseneck fine adjustment. The diameter without the crown is 34mm.

Look, this is a specialised collectors forum. Maybe the best, you will find. It is not a free evaluation service. Ask your auction house, read old auction catalogues, search eBay for completed watches and many other ways.....make your mistakes and learn from them. We all have started that way.

A couple of things; I think this is over-priced, by how much? Who knows but I would not pop off $1400 of mine for it. I really don't like his dial pictures; it's like he went out of his way to hide as much of the script as he could but in the box? The hands are all out of the way. Probably nothing wrong, it just makes me wonder. I would not spend over $800 of my USD for that piece. I paid about $500 for this back in 2017, prices are up but not $900...:

It鈥榮 an auction and the highest bid is currently CHF 534. Why do you claim it鈥榮 currently being priced at USD 1400 I wonder?

Ok I understand and that is why I created a separate thread. .. I guess that those who don'y care well they don't come. You can delete this thread if you wish
