I wonder if the dial is glued or taped in place?

That's quite an interesting collection of watch parts.
    I particularly like the line:
'I hope to draw the attention of all collectors.I invite everyone to do a search on what I'm trying to sell'.

Well his description sounds pretty definitive. And he has consulted experts. For EBay that's some damn fine due diligence. I'm in. :whipped:

I kinda like the bracelet only.
Nah wait. I expected the end links to be from 1171 or something. Just to keep up the consistency of the offer.

Isn't that 1039 going to be worth his asking price in about a years time?

    Reasonably clever description.

All the info that shows its not correct is actually shown, so ifit sells there's no 'not as described' complaint for the buyer. However, he's managed to hide all this within a description that could easily whip up excitement in a novice, partial to 'shit, this might be the last 321 Speedmaster ever to come up for sale syndrome'.

I wonder whether he acquired it in this state, or built it himself. Given the scratched dial and new dust cover, I'll wager these parts haven't been well acquainted for too long.

'I cannot say that the machine that was used in this watch has been an error of omega. I just know it is a very rare watch'.
    ::facepalm1::
Hey now there's a thought. Maybe the day was assembled by Omega it just happened to coincide with Xmas 1969 and there was an almighty boozy Xmas Office party lunch.....and then they went back to work in the afternoon, and well I guess concentration levels dropped.
I mean that could be a logical explanation::confused2::

And traveled to the future to pickup a modern dust cover? While possible, I think that's unlikely.

Yeah that part is more tricky.

    Sadly no colourful story here.

Just back to a good old fashioned botch job.

I've found some 105.002s and CK 2998-? that had 19.584.xxx s/n. So, we got a tired DON bezel and an older movement. Still worth a few thousand for those 2 parts.

Bezel is poor and case very polished, so not a great deal of value there.

Even with the current market, this must be 3 or 4 times it's actual value.

Raw would have been a more appropriate description for the watch.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but does it basically look like someone shoehorned a 321 movement in the 861 watch? Everything other than the dust cover and movement could be correct for an early '69 right?
