·As some of you may recall, last month was the annual Original Miami Beach Antique Show (OMBAS). It’s a big time watch expo, mostly very high end watches like Rolex and Pateks, but you see a lot of Omegas as well. Luckily I live in Miami so I go there every year. Last few years I’ve purchased at least one vintage Omega per show. This year I got an Omega Seamaster 120 Deep Blue 166.073. The serial number is 29,422,### which puts it at 1969 as the year of manufacture. Really happy with it.
However, I have a question about the bracelet, more specifically the clasp. The end links are clearly marked 634, but the ‘identifier’ bracelet link seems to have been swapped out. Mine only says "100% Stainless Steel". I think the logo bracelet with the embossed Omega logo is original even though it has been engraved with the initials P.R.S. I’m guessing that when it was engraved, the ‘identifier’ link was swapped out for whatever reason. Is that a reasonable thought? Or is maybe the entire clasp fake? Just trying to decide if I want to go and source an 1170 bracelet clasp.
