Well, I just finished replacing the green TAG Heuer F1 my nephew I'd bought for my youngest nephew's birthday at the start of the year after he wrecked it when literally the next day, the older nephew (9 years old) lost his TAG Heuer F1 blue chronograph in the ocean (this is the blue TAG his dad bought originally back in 1990, wore for a decade then gave to me, which started my interest in watches). So... naturally the kid's been terribly sad and all for a few weeks about losing his TAG, which sort of happened because he used to flip the clasp on the bracelet open and shut all the time, such that it got loose in the surf. My brother asked me to get another blue TAG, and since its being replaced anyway to make it an upgrade... so I went and bought this, a TAG Heuer WAB2011 Aquaracer automatic (ETA movement). What we're going to do this time around is put it on a nylon NATO strap so he can't fiddle with the clasp or lose it swimming, and give him the bracelet when he's older. The movement is a TAG Heuer Calibre 5, which is a modified ETA 2824-2 automatic non-chronometer movement.
Nice. However, you should know that kid's ALWAYS find a way to break something even if you think it's bullet/bomb proof. It's their job - and they do it well.
I know... we'll buy him a Rolex next time if he breaks this one, maybe an Air King will stand up better
If we had any kids, they'd only get G-Shocks. They can save up and buy their own damn Tag/Rolex/MB&F Flying Panda.
Funny you say that - I still associate G-shocks with kids. Gave my niece the one I got with the purchase of my 2000 Ford Focus. She thought it was über-cool back then.
