    Here is another JLC that I may make an offer on. This is working and recently serviced. The seller is asking $450. What are your thoughts?

    These watches don’t sell for that. Not real well versed but crowns look wrong ... probably other issues as well.

    I’m not sure if crowns are original or not. The US models were not always signed. However, these do not match. The dial looks original. The hands probably had radium tips that have either worn off or were cleaned off by a prior watchmaker. The case has had some work done on it in the past. This is a well-used and probably well loved watch.

    A working and serviced Memovox at $450 is a steal in today’s market. You may be able to find a matching set of crowns on eBay.

    Good luck with the purchase.

    I agree with Gator. While not particularly my style, I don't see anything really off-putting and I think I might just see some radium on the tip of the minute hand?

    Thanks to all for your feedback! I went ahead and purchased this JLC for $395. Finally got my first LeCoultre. I will start looking at crowns.

    I had a similar SS one - unfortunately no side pics, but to give you an idea of the crowns (which were indeed unsigned)...

    Thanks Traveler. I have already noticed many different crowns on the 1950s Memovoxs.

    $395 is an absolute fantastic price - well done! Especially after considering the other cheap LeCoultre you were thinking of buying, this one is several cuts above :thumbsup:

    It finally arrived. As advertised working well. Some light swirls in caseback and one lug a bit worn. Not sure on the crowns. Other 1950s Memovoxs also have these non matching thinner versions.
    I am very happy. Thanks everyone.

    Lower crown probably original. A good watchmaker should be able to match the upper one to it.

    @gatorcpa
    Are the crowns supposed to be identical in shape?

    Can anyone tell me if there is a particular correct term for distinguishing the snap on case back on the right from the one on the left? I'm thinking/guessing European v's American? They're both from the same era and pretty much the same size but sadly, as I learnt not interchangeable. Happened to Northernman too (where I got the pic from...apologies!!) How might I word an ebay search?

    I hope that was really cheap as I've just agreed a purchase of a good 467 for £700. No pics til I get it in a week or two.
