I periodically go to Goodwill to buy stuff. This time I went to donate a dining room set. I had not planned to go into the store to browse, but I'm sure glad I did. 7 day return policy, just in case.
Those usually have a broken rotor pivot...if it's clacking around in there, it's broken. Hard part to find but you can't beat the price
Lol, I just checked and sure enough there is clacking.... Its keeping time well. Can I have it serviced and just leave the clacking? I now have a total of three vintage JLC.
Before everyone here gets overly excited, I have it on very good authority that Goodwill is allocating only one JLC per store. No cue cutting or pushing.
The good thing is that GW will not bother to pre-screen customers who want to buy any watch model from their allocated inventories.
I do not think it is a good idea. The rotor would not work perfectly, and it would touch the case or the movement, which could lead to other issues. The rotor bearing is not cheap for this movement, but it can be found. As you got this watch at a magic price, buying a new bearing and have a full service done will not end at a too expansive overall cost.
I am traveling for work a lot . I've been checking these stores in some states, no luck at all. I remember one day, in Omaha I went to 3 or 4 stores, they had nothing at all. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
