First of all, I know the name SHOM isn't correct but most people know this model by that name. So...

Anyway, this little (big!) gem was hidden in a drawer for many years. Unlike 99% of these 166.0177's this one is an all original one with tritium dial/hands and with the correct bezel/datewheel. It came on this Isofrane/Omega ref 52005 which I believe was a correct strap for the Ploprof. The fact that it's unpolished also helps ;)

    Hi OF fellows!

Didn't want to start a new topic, so I revived this old one, as the aspect of the watch presented below is similar to the one above.
A collector friend showed me some pictures of a watch he owns. After he received little input on a local forum, we decided to ask here as well.
A similar discussion might have arisen on another foreign forum as well, but I figured more opinions wouldn't hurt.

What we think we got so far:
Bakelite bezel with correctly aged luminous writing? Checked
    Correct hands? Checked.
Correctly aged luminous material? Most likely yes - a difference in color is not that unusual (and the reason I chose this topic to be resurrected, since it matches the picture above)
Correct caseback inner/outer engravings? From Internet lore, yes.
Disk date? Probably correct; have seen both variants - white on black and vice-versa.
Case and crown? Checked, no obvious concerns
Serial range for the movement? Seems good, places the watch production date around 1973.

So - is this watch fully original? From our research so far - most likely yes. Now - welcoming discussion on the above, or any other interesting point that can be debated upon.

Lovely watch, not many of these about. As has been said most(nearly all) are Watchco put togeathers. This looks absolutely A OK and original. I had one once(plus a few Watchco versions) but moved it on many years ago. Hard to wear with the large crown. If I had one again I would be tempted to destro it with a Ploprof date wheel.

It would be a very good idea to get an extract of the archive from Omega to make sure the movement left the factory in that case ref.

Thank you for the input and praises :)
I shall pass them on to my fellow collector, while trying to persuade him to join the forum as a member.
