Casio GW-5000-1JF. Been wearing one as long as I can remember. With a boxful of high end watches to choose from, this one usually gets the nod.

Seiko 6309-7049 automatic.

I purchased this watch new at the NAS Whiting Field Navy Exchange in 1987 during U.S. Navy primary pilot training. I’ve worn it while flying hundreds of sorties as a military pilot as well as for many thousands of flight hours as an airline pilot.

It’s a good watch. 👍

Rog, Maverick. We have you fivers.

My one watch would probably be the Sub I wore today.

Thank you. I've pretty much decided it's the most handsome watch on the planet, to me. Just enough shine without screaming "look at me." I used to love my Daytona, but over time it became too shiny, or I became less interested in shine. That Sub is as photogenic as a young Christie Brinkley. And MUCH more photogenic than OF's own Mad Dog, even though he has posed more than Brinkley.😲

MD, that Seiko wasn't cheap back then. 200 bucks in 1987 was a fairly pricey watch. The Seikos I was buying at the same time were 100 or less, most times. I must have had 4 or 5 and still have 3 of them.

And it just occurred to me, Maverick, that you were on duty when the whole Top Gun thing happened. What did you and the other swabbies think about all that nonsense?

One watch for the rest of my life....that means it can't be too precious - gotta be a versatile, go-anywhere, do-anything, beater, yet still have some vintage street credibility...
I'd reach for my JDM July 1976 Seiko 6306-7000 turtle, modded with a faded Pepsi bezel.

I would go for my Speedmaster Moonwatch with extendible clasp as one watch to choose from my collection simply because it’s so comfortable and I’ve always a great feeling when I wear it anytime.

Has to be this one. Bought and sold many less expensive watches in the last few years and finally decided to get one nice watch to keep for the rest of my life that fits in in pretty much any environment. So far it doesn't disappoint, the perfect GADA watch for me.

Dress up, dress down, 99.99% accurate and a great 565 power reserve. I always go back to this one

I was in the application process for a Navy pilot slot [via AOCS - Aviation Officer Candidate School] when Top Gun was released in May of 1986. Later...we [the bastard children rotorheads of the almighty Naval Aviation machine] were just happy that there was one [or two] fairly insignificant helo scenes in the flick. 👍

Just curious, what are the two ships behind you? A Belknap or Virginia-class cruiser and a flat top?

I couldn't do just one, but if the number were two it would be the PO 2500 and my customized Speedy.
