Just curious, what are the two ships behind you? A Belknap or Virginia-class cruiser and a flat top?
I’m on the helo deck of the cruiser U.S.S. Vincennes [CG-49] which was my first ship and my first deployment...the ship in the background is the battleship U.S.S. New Jersey [BB-62]. The pic is from circa 1989/1990.

AT with teak dial, in fact, it was my only watch for a while.

Dress it up or dress it down, works either way

Nice! As a kid, I toured both the USS Vincennes and the USS New Jersey when they were in San Francisco for Fleet Week (1987?).

“I Atalien2005,
Take you, 5164
To be my WATCH
To have and to hold,
From this day forward,
For better, for worse,
For richer, for poorer (I’m poorer now),
With scratches, with dents,
To love and to cherish,
‘Till death do us part.”

...and a question that cannot be answered since I may be enchanted by beauty and the allure of gold..
or mesmerised by the thrill of speed

wherever my gaze may fall there appears a first amongst equals

I wore a 7A48-7009 watch every day from the day I bought it around 1984 when they first came out until the beginning of 2018 when I became seriously interested in watch collecting. ;-)

I paid $275 for the first one when it was brand new and then, when the gold bezel adornment was no longer available, I decided to buy a second 7A48-7009 about three years ago - the one on the left. That watch also set me back $275, so obviously this is not an investment quality watch!

I guess that's my answer.
