Didn't expect this to arrive until next week..

It was a spur of the moment purchase but which I'm happy I made despite the over-polished bezel...Lugs still retain there sharpness, bezel has a faint line.

The dial is truly stunning and rare salmon/cream two-tone waffle (hard to picture) and I'm now ::in love:: with the arrowhead markers too..

This has been a great day so far! ::spoiled::

Here are only iPhone pics as I'm supposed to be working..hmmm...

Medallion still nicely intact. And some text as well..Need to source a clover 2852 crown. If anyone knows of one cheap let me know! Oh, and an Omega crystal too!

    Thanks for looking!

    :)

After seeing the thread title, I was racking my brain to figure out what Zenith a reference A 2852 was:confused:

Very nice - I'm really developing a yen for something with those markers

Definitely a yen and not a zen?! ;) Thanks, well, I'd gladly help you out. I'm in love with Zenith chonos in all stainless steel..(bracelet too) If you have any leads or one pops up at a good price, I'd appreciate it, they really are gorgeous watches!

Nice textured dial with even patina. Have to say though that bezel the way it is would bother me no end!

I took a chance on this as part of a learning process as the pictures weren't really distinguishable. For what I paid and what I could sell it for I have no worries. It will be a keeper for now, if I decide to sell it on I can replace it for something sharper when the right piece comes up. But as it stands I think it's lovely.

If the price was good, the dial itself would make the purchase worth it. Have always had a soft spot for vintage omega textured dials.

I know what you mean. The combination of two tone and texture, with arrow markers definately is a plus, I am with you about the case, though.

Great dial - but I have one question: where did you shoot the picture? If you're at work and the watch was photographed on a tile window sill, did you sneak into the restroom to shoot pics? :p

I work from home. And it appears that the best source of light is the bathroom, tiled window...It's where I take most of my pictures and usually, guilt free! ;) (re-reading that it does sound somewhat dubious..) Very observant tho!

I have a question. Is this the correct crown for the 2852? It's a Cal. 354?

Nope wrong crown - you need the typical decagonal connie crown of the era. The modern replacements fit and are of the style but are not identical.

True. The vintage crowns are a bit thinner and more elegant looking than the modern replacements. The new ones go well with the Ref. 2852, but not so well with the later models. The only other issue that you might have is that the yellow color is more pronounced on the modern version than on some of the original watches.

    Very nice looking old Constellation,

That's a very nice dial, there just seem to be some like Angel's (formerly Dennis') Cal 504 Constellation and this one that age in a way that IMO enhances them rather than detracts. There are not many dials with patina that attractive around ;)
