·Like many others I have become the proud owner of a Longines watch, and like many have no idea what it is I have inherited. My only interest is in the realm of insurance, and of course curiosity.
Based on others posts, I have tried to include all the necessary photos, but I am as yet not willing or brave enough to attempt to remove the back. How does it remove? Screw off or lever? How to do this without damaging the case?
So the photos I have taken as best I can. In case it is not clear there is the Longines names on the winder and I found the stamps - DS&S 9.375 on the clasp. From a quick internet search it seems there should be another letter there? I did find a tiny stamp on the side of the clasp, but it is beyond the capability of my phone to take a photo of it - I am assuming it is 2 stamps?
DS&S I believe we’re a UK based case maker and that the 9.375 relates to the Gold Karat of the watch.
Any advice or suggestions of what and of what age this watch is would be great fully received - even if it is a man’s or a ladies watch….
