Been frittering today and amongst the purchasers are some of an antipodean and German flavour with a big chunk of Japanese tech.
So here goes.
First up a commemorative plate, number 25 out of 200. Commerating the Torres channel pilot service in Australia.

Next up a German Beer Stein ( 1.5 litres I guess), made in Germany, I bought an Austrian one last week also made in Austria in glass ( 1.5 litres) but this one is in stoneware.

And lastly a Kenwood TS-50 Ham all band HF transceiver, made of course in Japan.

Almost forgot, bought some size 13 Rollerblades!

If you have ever tried to buy size 13 it's a big deal as they are like rocking horse shit to find.
Not made in China, I am guessing Canada as the wheels are stamped made in Canada, haven't researched the brand yet. *EDIT* the brand is Rollerblade

All I can ever find is size 11.5 or 12 and they are almost all Chinese.

A bit of a personal grail was finally realised on Saturday . I picked up a short lived first press of Please Please me with black/gold labels , it goes nicely with first pressings of the Beatles first two singles Love me do & Please Please me .

When I was a kid, I kept my Matchbox/Dinky toys (original Hot Wheels) in a shoe box under my bed.
As an adult I kept my 357 ammo in a coffee can in the pantry.
(Oh, hang on, no I didn't, that would have been illegal in Australia)

Not all ordered today but dispatched today
Pair of Vivobarefoot Scotts in leather- love these- have a vegan pair that I’ve owned for for 3 years and put about 6000kms on before having resoled… so picked up a lightly used pair in leather in different colour as a backup
And ordered MTO 6 months ago, just finished- 2x Santalum barefoot (their first ever barefoot run) boots… looking forward to wearing them

Just bought this yesterday, incredibly good deal at the local paint shop specialist, if you Google the brand you might just discover why.

This arrived in from the UK the other day, another purchase off the Bay.

All in preparation for the other purchase I made for Christmas.

This 1944 Gibson J45 was bequeathed to me by a very close friend who passed away last week at age 62 from ALS.

The day after he died, I was stunned when his wife brought out this guitar case and set it in front of me. I completely broke down and cried.

Banner headstock ~

I loved Mike Kraynak, and I’ll miss him forever. He was a great friend and could play as well as anyone in the world. I’m far from alone in that opinion.

This old guitar means the world to me, and, as you can imagine, it sounds absolutely glorious.

“Chorus of angels” indeed!

Bought a boat and the dickhead that sold it stored his fireworks next to the 3 fuel tanks under the casting deck…..🤦🤦

Wedges...

For stuff that my hydraulic splitter can't handle, and my splitting maul just bounces off...

Ugly grain made for difficult splitting...

Also, new tennis shoes...

And a new phone - iPhone14 pro. I'm not a phone flipper, needing the latest and greatest, so this replaced my iPhone 6...long overdue...

Hmmm best solution, get a bigger hydraulic log splitter!

Last time I needed a big one I hired it, instant convert to the bigger is better theory.
